Philosophy

At Little Echidna Early Learning Centre, we believe early childhood is a truly special time full of wonder, discovery, and growth. As a small, close-knit centre caring for just 39 children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, we create a home-like environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to explore.

We know strong relationships are the foundation of a child’s confidence and sense of belonging. Our educators take the time to truly get to know each child and their family, building trust, respect, and open communication so every child feels supported, included, and free to be themselves.

Play is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our programs blend child-led exploration with intentional teaching and hands-on experiences. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, with a strong focus on outdoor play and time spent in nature. These experiences help children build independence, problem-solving skills, and a real connection to the world around them.

We also support children to grow emotionally, helping them develop empathy, resilience, and kindness. Every child is celebrated for who they are, and we tailor learning to their strengths, interests, and needs so they can thrive at their own pace.

Families are a central part of what we do. We work closely with parents and carers to build genuine partnerships, ensuring every child feels seen, heard, and supported both at home and in the centre.

At Little Echidna, we are more than a place of care, we are a warm, welcoming community where children belong, grow with confidence, and discover the joy of learning.

Book your child’s place today and give them the Little Echidna experience, where confidence, curiosity, and joy flourish every day.
